Stick to a colour theme and create photo opportunities
To celebrate Chloe’s 4th birthday we had a special backyard celebration. We went with a pink and gold theme for the backyard celebrations. The most popular colour schemes are pastels, pink/gold or rainbow colour. You don't need to stick to the theme for everything but it makes choosing the decorations a whole lot easier when you have a theme to work with. The grazing table added a beautiful backdrop for photos and turned her backyard into a magical fairy garden oasis.

Get creative with your theme
Think outside the box with the theme - could you use fairy lights in the backyard, decorate your favourite chair, utilise your favourite tree as a backdrop. What could you use at home that would make it special? If you prefer to outsource the creativity, speak to us!

Host a 2hr party
We recommend hosting a 2hr party from 10-12 or 2-4pm. Children are much fresher in the morning and afternoon, rather than in the middle of the day. These time windows also mean you don't need to feed everyone a substantial lunch. It also means families who have young children who are day sleepers, can get them down for their naps.
